PTO is having a FREE Glow Dance on Friday, October 27th from 6:00 - 8:00 in the cafeteria.


Tuesday of Red Ribbon Week, "Give Drugs the Boot!"


We finally got a new delivery date for Little Caesar pizza kits. They will be delivered on Wednesday, October 25. You can pick-up your orders at the cafeteria doors 3:15-5:15.


Red Ribbons Week begins on Monday with "Mountaineers Are Drug Free!"



Fun Tip Friday for Families
Literacy development is critical to your child’s overall development, and there are many ways this can be done. Singing, talking and playing word games with your child can increase their vocabulary. Take a minute to view the short video present by the West Virginia Department of Education.

Bus Announcement: Bus # 73 will not run today.
Middle School and High School students who normally ride that bus will be transported home on Bus # 24 or #25.
Flemington students from that bus will be transported by Bus #79.

Just a reminder that Thursday, October 19 is a 2-hour early dismissal for Taylor County Schools. Parent Pick-up will begin at 12:55. Also there will not be any Afterschool Program at Anna Jarvis.

Taylor County Schools is excited to announce Fun Tip Friday for Families! We will be sharing short videos, resources, and activities on Fridays that families can use to support learning at home. Our first Fun Tip Friday for Families focuses on the Science of Reading research and best practices. Take a minute to enjoy this short video that will explain practices and activities that our elementary educators are using to help our students become better readers.

AJES is looking for new or gently used Twister games that people would like to donate to the school. Games can be dropped off to the front office or your child can bring them to school to take to the front office.

TCS Announcement:
Thursday, October 19th will now be a 2-Hour Early Release for all Taylor County School students. Staff will be attending various meetings and trainings within the schools.


Sorry for the delay but there was a problem with the delivery of the Little Caesars Pizza Kits. We are working with the company to get a new delivery date and time. Once we have the information, we will let everyone know.


Thank you to Tammy Poling and the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church for their donation of glow sticks and candy for our fall event. So thankful for another community resource to partner up with for our students at Anna Jarvis.


Attention fourth graders at AJES:
Mrs. A. Knotts, the Library Media Specialist, is ready to start the school newspaper, The AJES scoop back up for our fifth year. 🎉
Applications are due: Friday, October 20. Students will be notified on Monday, October 23, if they are hired.
During their library specialists time, students will be able to fill out an online application. Students will need to submit work samples to adknotts@k12.wv.us. (Examples such as photographs student has taken, a typed interview of a friend or family member, a sample comic book strip student has created- take a photograph and email)
Students may also scan the QR code and complete the application at home.
